A concert by Hot Jazz Band and The Riverside Soul in Siófok at the Kálmán Imre Cultural Center featuring early jazz and authentic bluegrass music. The bands are internationally awarded artists who bring the musical atmosphere of the last century live.
Hot Jazz BandThe Hot Jazz Band, celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2025, is best known and loved by the domestic audience as authentic performers of early jazz and the Hungarian light music repertoire between the two world wars, including the music of Karády, Kabos, Jávor, and Latabár films. In the second half of the 1990s, as the only Hungarian jazz band, they won four international competitions in France, the most outstanding being the International New Orleans Jazz Competition held in St. Raphael, where they took first prize among 54 bands. The band also achieved success in the United States. They have visited the birthplace of jazz six times. In Sacramento, California, at the world's largest jazz meeting, they were twice the festival's most popular band. Last year, their 14th album titled "egy kis malac" was released, mainly consisting of songs written for children. The Hot Jazz Band has twice received the eMeRTon award, the Líra award, the Louis Armstrong Memorial Award, the Silver Life Tree award, and in 2015, they were awarded the Kossuth Prize. At Kobuci Garden, the most famous covers will be played, such as "én babám egy fekete nő", "a bankban nincsen betétem", "Halló Baby", and the hit "Odavagyok magáért". The Riverside Soul was formed with the aim of bringing back the authentic 1940s bluegrass sound. In 2025, the band returned from the Texas Sounds Country Music Awards festival with the Band Of The Year award and gave seven concerts in the United States. In their own compositions, they combine traditional bluegrass musical values with their own ideas. Their first album, Spring Wind, was released on April 30, 2026.
