The renewed Laposa Borterasz is a true bucket-list destination on the side of Badacsony, with an oval terrace harmonizing with the landscape, welcoming us all year round. Besides the exciting wine selection, the panorama before our eyes, the ever-changing Balaton, the hills of Fonyód, and the rows of vineyards dazzle us. The panorama and atmosphere remain unchanged, but the terrace and kitchen have been completely renovated, so Laposa welcomes us in winter with its traditional hospitality but renewed appearance, when the heated indoor space offers refuge. It is no wonder that after several years, the Laposa family planned renovation and expansion. The terrace has outgrown itself, and the bistro kitchen has become increasingly professional. The terrace and the covered outdoor area, which can be winterized, have become larger, so even if the weather turns colder, there will be no obstacle to visiting the wine terrace. During the renovation, the indoor space was also renewed, and the more spacious room awaits us with greater capacity. The uniqueness of the Badacsony wine region is due to its witness hills, in other words, its former volcanoes. The volcanic activity 4.5 million years ago created a special soil formation here, basalt, and it is said that the combination of basalt soil and the unique microclimate prevailing in the wine region results in the harmony and distinctive mineral sensation so characteristic of Badacsony wines. From the beginning, the Laposa family has strived to highlight the values of the volcanic terroir, accordingly cultivating the most suitable grape varieties in the Badacsony, Csobánc, and Köves-hegy areas: Italian Riesling, Rhine Riesling, Gray Monk, Kéknyelű, and Furmint.
