Harvest Kickoff Concert - Écska, Huba and Vazul

Écska and Huba recently visited us and threw a great party! I would say the energy blew the side of the house off. :-) Did you know that they are a couple in real life and that they chose each other by sound? Écska told in an interview that she first didn’t see but heard her future partner, Huba, playing music. Écska’s father was the world-famous jazz pianist Frigyes Pleszkán, from whom she inherited the love of music. In civilian life, she is an extremely versatile creator: she also deals with puppet making, poetry, and visual arts. Besides the duo, she is also known as the frontwoman of the sultry jazz-rock and soul band Soulbreakers. The duo is one of the most unique and creative acoustic formations in the domestic underground music scene, mixing elements of soul, jazz, and rock, so anyone spending this August evening with us is sure to get a colorful musical experience. Now they are joined by Endre Mándli with Vazul, who has been playing with Huba for a long time. When Huba and Vazul play together, you should not expect an average blues concert. Besides the harmonica, Vazul likes to use rare, experimental, or folk instruments such as the jaw harp. In the past, they also used unique transitional instruments on stage like the “hegetár,” which is mostly a mix of guitar, cello, and bass guitar.
