Margó Literary Festival, concerts: Лето and Anima Sound System

The Лето (Leto) band was formed in early 2024 in Budapest, growing out of Csank László's solo music project with the support of Márton Tóth, and later the enthusiastic collaboration of Balázs Krupánszki and Ádám Faragó Kovács. It is a tribute to Кино (Kino), perhaps the most successful and well-known Soviet band of the 1980s, led by the tragically fated frontman Viktor Coj. The members of Лето are outstanding figures of the contemporary Hungarian alternative/underground scene, who, inspired by different musical influences but reaching a common ground, fuse their virtuosity in this formation through songs that are not their own compositions but well-known and much-listened hits of the aforementioned Кино band. Лето does not imitate or identify with them, but interprets uniquely styled cover versions for the audience. Their name was inspired by the 2018 film Лето, which tells a love triangle story between a rock and roll musician, his student, and his wife in the Soviet Union of the 1980s.
