Musical stage adaptation of Ferenc Molnár's classic novel in Balatonszárszó at the Csukás Theater. The performance presents themes of heroism and betrayal through conflicts among young characters, complemented by modern musical elements.
Ferenc Molnár's world-famous novel is a foundational work about the nature of human society, the concepts of heroism, betrayal, vulnerability, and patriotism. Nemecsek, Boka, Áts Feri, and the others are eternal examples, our eternal contemporaries. This classic foundational work is presented this time not as a conflict among children, but among young people. The dramatic situations are thus even harsher, further intensified by contemporary-sounding music and lyrics. The performance places decisive emphasis on the acoustic realization of the material world, the actors' musical-rhythmic creativity, the energy and humor of youth, and the cathartic message of the original work. The stage adaptation involved László Marton and Zsuzsa Radnóti, using some elements of Sándor Török's revision. The musical play is presented with the permission of the Proscenium Authors' Agency.
