One of the most significant events in the cultural and community life of Keszthely city is the traditionally held "Keszthely Város Napja" program series on the first weekend of June every year. The purpose of the festive days is for the residents of the city and visitors to celebrate together Keszthely's rich history, cultural values, and community cohesion. This year's program series also offers colorful experiences for all age groups: concerts, theater performances, exhibitions, family and community programs, and local history curiosities await those interested. The city center dresses in a festive atmosphere for several days, where traditions, culture, and community experiences meet. June 5 (Friday) 9:00-17:00 - Main Square: Health screening buses with free examinations, supported by the Generali for Safety Foundation. 17:00 - Balaton Theater, Simándy Hall: Exhibition opening "Old Keszthely in new colors – 1900-1950" and city history lectures. 20:30 - Main Square, open-air stage: Show & Bors band concert. 22:00-24:00 - Main Square, open-air stage: DJ Dorian. June 7 (Sunday) Sunday at the Korzó, Walking Street: 15:00-19:00 - Simon House (Kossuth St. 1): Open house, photo exhibition about Simon Böske and her family, free entry. 15:00 and 16:30 - Local history walk "On Simon Böske's path" led by Dr. Lajos Szarka. 15:00-19:00 - Korzó quiz at several stations on the Walking Street, a nostalgic adventure. From 16:00 - Street music in the style of the 1920s and 30s, performers include Elek Nyári and his gypsy band, Norbert Németh (accordion), Chanson Brass, Gábor & Gábor formation. 16:00-17:30 - Visual salon, presentation by hairdressing and makeup students. 16:00-20:00 - Nostalgia photo point, free nostalgia photography in the style of the 1920s, appointment required. 18:00 - "The Beauty of Korzó" local history curiosities, contributors: students of the University of Theatre and Film Arts, Tamás Réczei. 19:00 - Korzó runway fashion show of summer 2026 fashion. 19:45 - Sing Sing Sing dance time travel with Darida Dance Theatre. 21:00 - Main Square: Open-air cinema "Western Vacation" (2022, crime comedy). Additionally, light painting, gastronomic vendors, and bouncy castles await visitors in the center of Keszthely. The organizers reserve the right to change the program. In case of bad weather (rain, stormy wind), the programs will be canceled.
